Fashion for Recycling is a nationwide educational and environmental project of the European Recycling Platform (ERP Poland), which aims to educate children and young people in the proper handling of electro-waste, which can be most dangerous to the environment.
Five fashion designers, graduates of the International School of Costume and Fashion Design (awarded by the prestigious Vogue magazine!), visit recycling plants on the occasion of the fifth anniversary edition of the campaign, followed by ecologically engaged cities and municipalities. A unique nature lesson is held in selected towns and cities, and its participants learn how to properly handle used batteries and accumulators, as well as used electrical and electronic equipment and packaging waste. The lesson for children and young people is combined with a workshop on preparing recycled creations.
However, the World Recycling Day workshop was unique because of the participation of celebrities and well-known journalists. This time they were the ones who showed their love for the planet Earth by getting involved in the creative process and preparing hairstyles from electro-waste, which they gave a second life to together with creative designers. They learned why recycling is so important, especially nowadays, when we should reduce our consumption of natural resources.
During the event, recycled jewelry and creations made from electro-waste were prepared by Monika Richardson, Marta Wisniewska “Mandaryna”, Klaudia Nieścior, Adriana Hyzopska, Julia Sobczynska, Patrycja Wieja, Ariamartelle, Agnieszka Mrozinska, Eliza Gwiazda, Piotr Zelt and others.
Celebrities and well-known journalists met at the “Kalinowe serce” art salon in Warsaw, and Maria Sadowska and her husband Adrian Łabanowski performed a recital.
